Introvert Issues

Sometimes I feel like I'm at a disadvantage to the bloggers (and people in general) who are extroverts. Always sharing, welcoming and outgoing. It's not that I'm not any of these things but that being these things to everyone is difficult. Lately I've been conflicted with whether I really am outgoing and personable but just too shy to express it, or if I really am just reserved. As a blogger and aspiring to work in the fashion industry, I feel like the only way I can make it is if I have a dominating personality. I'm reserved and laid back and I like that and have accepted that about myself. Somehow I'm going to have to find the balance between introvert and extrovert without faking or forcing it.

The Tortoise and the Hare

With each new year comes New Year's Resolutions and the idea that changes need to me made abruptly; to do this, that and the other, all as soon as the clock strikes twelve on January 1st. For the last couple of year I refused to make New Year's resolutions because I always became discouraged when the changes I wanted to make didn't come as quickly or easily as I thought they would. This year I thought the more effective way to go about my resolution would be to make it realistic and doable. In 2016 I'm not going to race to my goals or expect to see results over night. I'm not going to focus on the race that other people are running and compare where I am to where they are. What I'm doing is individual and should have nothing to do with how quickly some one else did the same thing. I'll take my time to perfect what I'm doing and make it something genuine that I can be proud of. So on days when it feels like I'm behind in the race, I have to remember that in the old story, the tortoise beat the hare.

Christmas Wishlist 2015

Usually my wishlists are pretty long, but this Christmas there are only a few things that I really, REALLY want (besides clothes of course). Normally I'm very picky, which means I rarely get EXACTLY what I want. This year my list is short and, I think, very doable.

1. VOGUE + Fashion Magazine Subscriptions

Any day I get my hands on a fashion magazine, I feel inspired. A subscription would actually help me study styling, writing and trends. AND I could fill the hours I already spend procrastinating, obsessing over looks and creating mood boards to my hearts content.

2. Rihanna + R8

Even though I would be forever indebted to anyone who actually got me RIHANNA for Christmas, I know that that's incredibly unrealistic. What I've really been wanting for the last year is #R8. I can't wait to finally hold the Anti album in my hands and hopefully be in her presence at the Anti Tour. So, Rih I'm waiting on you!

3. PUMA Creepers

Speaking of Queen Rih, the three new additions to the FENTY x PUMA creeper collection are also on my wishlist, especially the navy and white creepers. I've been wearing my oatmeal creepers almost everyday since I've gotten them, and one pair is no longer enough.

4. Velour Tracksuit

Call it an obsession, and I'll agree. I've had velour tracksuits on my mind for the past month. Not only will it be a great add to my closet but it would also be nostalgic. I specifically want a baby pink tracksuit like the one I had in second grade that I wore every Friday. I've never gotten over that I outgrew that tracksuit.

That's my wishlist! I'm hoping to get these gifts one way or another this Christmas...even if I have to wrap them and gift them to myself.

Waiting to Fall

I've repeatedly talked about my love for fall. It's the season that I crave. As soon as the first cool day come, which hasn't yet in Florida, the vibe changes. My attitude and energy change and there's a difference. Layering of course is my favorite part of fall. My clothes are my safety blanket and I feel secure with multiple layers; less exposed and more confident. Staying stylish in colder weather is a challenge but the creative possibilities of pairing pieces and creating unexpected looks makes the challenge fun. I'm looking forward to those 50 and 60 degree days when I'll be able to push myself creatively. For now I'm layering with what I can without overheating. Suede has been one of my fall obsessions and the color of this chocolate suede dress compliments the color of this turtle neck and my oatmeal puma creepers perfectly!

Happy Bloggiversary !!

Our birthdays are the one time of year when we can specifically pin point where you were and who you were exactly a year ago to the day. Getting older is a strange feeling. You're constantly growing and changing as a person but you never notice the changes as they happens, but only when you reflect back on who you used to be. And it's funny when you realize that you're a different person because you don't know when exactly it happened but you're better for it.

I remember starting this blog a year ago today, and wanting to start it months before, wanting to be more expressive. Blogging has helped build my self confidence, and made me realize that I'm good at what I do. There are people who love my style, and some people who don't. Either way I'm grateful to everyone who's read even one post on my blog, and especially thankful to all of you who keep coming back and kept me motivated. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!

My goals for year 2 are to bring better and more consistent content to my readers, and refuse to hold back.
